Eamonn Carey is a Managing Director at Techstars. He recently ran the Techstars Connection in partnership with AB InBev program in New York City. He was formerly an entrepreneur in residence on the Barclays/Techstars Accelerator in London and an advisor, mentor and occasional investor in multiple startups and accelerators around Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In the past, Eamonn started, succeeded and failed with several startups in Europe and the Middle East - including Farmvillain - an app which some described as the 'South Park of Facebook'. He first started building games (as an eight year old) to impress girls in the late 1980s. His efforts were unsuccessful. His love for games lived on in spite of that fact.Since then, he has worked with Kiip - helping them win their first clients and establish their footprint and offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Currently, Eamonn is a board member and advisor at Lingvist, where he helps with product, marketing and business development.

Harley completed his law degree as well as his MBA at the University of Ottawa, where he co-founded the JD/MBA Student Society and the Canadian MBA Oath. Harley is on the Board of the C100, is an Advisor to Felicis Ventures & Omers Ventures, and is one of the new “Dragons” on CBC’s Next Gen Den. Harley was inducted into the Order of Ottawa in 2016, and received the Angel Investor of the Year Award in 2017.

Jessica Scorpio is a Founder and CMO at Getaround, a carsharing community founded to leverage the 1 Billion cars on the planet, building cleaner, smarter cities.

Prior to launching Getaround, Jessica completed the inaugural Graduate Studies Program at Singularity University (SU '09), a school launched by Ray Kurzweil, Peter Diamandis, NASA, and Google focused on inspiring future leaders to understand, and facilitate the development of exponentially advancing technologies in order to address humanity's grand challenges. Before founding Getaround, Jessica worked for the Government of Canada and is also the former Founder and CEO of IDEAL, a not-for-profit network for entrepreneurs and young leaders.

Since founding Getaround Jessica has conquered some serious challenges head on - including launching legislation in several states to legalize her idea, working with Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway to create a first-of-it's-kind insurance product for car sharing, and, more recently, tackling the challenges associated with scaling a hyper-local business across the country.

Jessica is passionate about the impact Sharing Economy companies can have on the lives of everyday people while helping to build sustainable, close-knit cities and communities, and has been recognized by numerous publications including Forbes, Fortune, Inc, Elle and CNBC for her work. She is also a World Economic Forum Young Global Shaper and frequent speaker at events such as Google Zeitgeist, TechCrunch Disrupt, Big Omaha, TNW Conference and SXSW Interactive.

Amber Mac(Arthur) started her career in San Francisco and Boston during the dot-com boom in the late 1990s. As a strategist for Razorfish and Director of Marketing for an e-procurement software company, she spent four years in the technology start-up trenches.

Amber left the start-up world to join Microsoft to build one of the first female-focused lifestyle portals. In 2006, with her brother, she started her own digital agency called Konnekt. The company’s first client was world-renowned business coach, Tony Robbins. Her company’s clients include Microsoft Xbox, Ford Motor Company, Tony Robbins, Canada Goose, Fast Company, PayPal, Canadian Blood Services, and many more leading organizations. In 2010, she wrote the national bestselling business book Power Friending (Portfolio: New York). In 2016, she co-wrote an Internet safety book called Outsmarting Your Kids Online (with security expert Michael Bazzell). Amber has keynoted more than 300 events around the world. Topics include business innovation, Internet of things, online safety, and what it takes for companies to adapt and grow.

She is a regular business host and expert for Fast Company, CNN, Bloomberg TV, CBS, BNN, The Marilyn Denis Show, and Sirius Radio. She was recently hired to serve as an entrepreneur advisor on a new reality pilot called Dream Funded: Let the Crowd Decide, created by Mark Burnett.

Alain previously conducted global agriculture strategy projects with McKinsey & Company’s Agriculture Practice. Mr Pamenter is the Executive in Residence for Entrepreneurship at University of Ontario Institute of Technology where he coaches student and faculty led start ups, lectures on business issues and intellectual property and builds programmes about entrepreneurial activities for students in all faculties. He and his team have built a comprehensive offering comprised of speeches by invited experts, seminars, workshops, incubators and boot camps. More than 300 students participated in events in the 2016-2017 academic year and more than 26 student led companies have enrolled in UOIT’s Brilliant Summer Incubator.

Mr Pamenter also provides strategic consulting services to technology SMEs and serves on various business and not for profit boards.

Prior to taking his role at UOIT, Mr. Pamenter was a senior technology and business law partner in the law firm GowlingWLG (Gowlings), then known as Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP. Gowlings is an international firm of more than 1100 professionals, with offices in many commercial centres in Canada and Europe.

Mr Pamenter is married and has two adult sons. He lives with his wife, Terri, in Port Hope, Ontario.

With extensive business experience, as well as Board and volunteer management expertise, Jess became the Executive Director of York Angels in 2014, after years as an active angel with the group.

Leveraging her experience as a business owner and marketing expertise, Jess has worked with the YAI team to grow membership by over 45%, as well as increase deal flow, number of deals completed and amount invested. This renewed focus earned York Angels the honour of being ranked Top 5 in Canada in 2015 and 2016.

Jess works closely with angels and ecosystem partners, to connect dedicated angels with game-changing young companies looking to grow! The goals? Mentorship, growth, exceptional exits and community development!

Jess is Executive Director of York Angel Investors Inc., and partner/co-founder of Insiteful Solutions. In her spare time, Jess enjoys spending time with her family. An entrepreneur at heart, Susan Co-Founded Givopoly.com in 2012 and Numbercrunch.ca in 2014 and has an increased appreciation of the variety of challenges faced by local entrepreneurs.

Susan is a member of the President’s Advisory Panel on Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Algonquin College. She has served as a member of the Board of Governors for The Society of Management Accountants of Ontario. Susan was previously involved in the OCRI Dollars and Sense serving as a member of the Steering Committee.

Code has more than 25 years of experience as a company founder, operating executive and investor. As a venture capital and private investor, Code has invested in more than 50 technology companies across North America.

Prior to Mistral, Code was the Chief Operating Officer of Zephyr Technology (acquired by Covidien NYSE: COV), an Investment Director at Motorola Ventures in California and a Principal at Gabriel Venture Partners, a Silicon Valley based venture capital Firm. Code began his career as a design engineer at IBM in Toronto Canada, before moving to the United States in 1997.

He is currently focused on investments in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, SaaS and Cloud-based technologies. He has led several Celtic House investments including Auvik, Corsa Technology, KodaCloud, Cambrian Systems (acquired by Nortel), Extreme Packet Devices (acquired by PMC-Sierra) and PixStream (acquired by Cisco). He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto and was a postdoctoral researcher at MIT.

Mr Pamenter is a lawyer, an angel investor, a board director, a strategic consultant, an ICD certified director and a trained arbitrator

Mr Pamenter is the Executive in Residence for Entrepreneurship at University of Ontario Institute of Technology where he coaches student and faculty led start ups, lectures on business issues and intellectual property and builds programmes about entrepreneurial activities for students in all faculties. He and his team have built a comprehensive offering comprised of speeches by invited experts, seminars, workshops, incubators and boot camps. More than 300 students participated in events in the 2016-2017 academic year and more than 26 student led companies have enrolled in UOIT’s Brilliant Summer Incubator.

Mr Pamenter also provides strategic consulting services to technology SMEs and serves on various business and not for profit boards.

Prior to taking his role at UOIT, Mr. Pamenter was a senior technology and business law partner in the law firm GowlingWLG (Gowlings), then known as Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP. Gowlings is an international firm of more than 1100 professionals, with offices in many commercial centres in Canada and Europe.

Mr Pamenter is married and has two adult sons. He lives with his wife, Terri, in Port Hope, Ontario.

A passionate connector of people, Jess brings 20 years of business experience in both entrepreneurial endeavours and not-for-profit organizations to York Angel Investors (YAI). With extensive business experience, as well as Board and volunteer management expertise, Jess became the Executive Director of York Angels in 2014, after years as an active angel with the group.

Leveraging her experience as a business owner and marketing expertise, Jess has worked with the YAI team to grow membership by over 45%, as well as increase deal flow, number of deals completed and amount invested. This renewed focus earned York Angels the honour of being ranked Top 5 in Canada in 2015 and 2016.

Jess works closely with angels and ecosystem partners, to connect dedicated angels with game-changing young companies looking to grow! The goals? Mentorship, growth, exceptional exits and community development!

Jess is Executive Director of York Angel Investors Inc., and partner/co-founder of Insiteful Solutions. In her spare time, Jess enjoys spending time with her family. She is also an active community volunteer, whose roles have included International President of the Queen’s University Alumni Association and two terms as President of the local \rotary Club. Her hobbies include photography, Pilates, cooking and cottaging.
